Make a Plan & Take a Stand for the Life You Want
Stephen Porges - Author; The Polyvagal Theory
Whether you want to connect for private recovery coaching, or you feel your best with the support of a group around you, you will see and take part in demos of the most useful ways to embody whatever shift you'd like to make, and have a plan to make it stick!
As the Continuing Care Program Coach at an addiction & trauma treatment center on Canadas beautiful west coast, I help create a protected space where nervous system research feeds group curiosity & creative solutions to real life struggles come alive.
The truth is that all of our very best (and very worst) habits live in the body -
Research suggests that harmful habits stem from the same area of the body as habitual tensions held from past shock or trauma.
These habits live in the motion of your hand as you brush your teeth, or in how your arm rises & falls each time you take another drink. They live in the drum of your heart beat & the catch of your breath when you feel triggered.
The reason we know better, yet may not make a different choice, is that new information & fresh insight needs to 'sink in' to our tissues where the old habits and tensions still live..
Unlike other approaches, once your body has a felt sense of a new way of doing things - just like learning to ride a bike - you will always be able to find your way forward. Making great decisions gets a whole lot easier when it has become second nature for your body to bring you back from overwhelm / shut down.
There is a future that only you can imagine. There is path to feeling clear on what success truly means to you beyond outer influence or expectation. On the path to this future, you'll need a trustworthy compass. Your body is that instrument.
I help people decode information from their 5 senses by including the body in every coaching conversation. Doing so gives our true needs a voice, and unlocks the doors to greater personal power and freedom of choice.
